Salary: £38,085 - £40,230 pa pro rata to £34,422 – £36,361 pa (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1500 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Science Technician Team Leader to a busy Science Faculty. Reporting to the Head of Science, this key role involves responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practical and technical support service. Previous experience in a similar role in a school or scientific working environment is essential.
The main responsibilities are:
line management of eight technicians to ensure that the existing expertise is effectively and smoothly managed and supported
adapting and improving existing protocols and procedures, requiring effective and experienced project management
monitoring and developing existing and planned lab development and use.
The ability to deliver all three aspects of the job is an important feature of this post.
