Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We’re currently looking for a Postgraduate Teacher of Classics to teach the subject to pupils in Years 9 to 13.
The Classics department consists of seven teachers who all contribute to the teaching of Latin, Greek and Ancient History and are committed to making the Classics Department a centre for excellence in the study of the subject. Join us, and we’ll provide an excellent level of support and guidance and a broad range of professional learning opportunities to help enhance your career progression – presenting an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate to enter into the teaching profession.
Although a full time position, you will be teaching a reduced timetable. You’ll also contribute to the wider activities of the department, as well as being able to play your part in the extra-curricular life of the College, including getting involved in sporting activities, social events and school trips.
This is a great chance to deliver inspirational and informative lessons to the full age range and ability of our pupils. You’ll need a good level degree in a directly related subject. We’ll also be looking for 3 A Levels, IB or equivalent, an excellent knowledge of Latin language and Latin literature, and the confidence with either Classical Greek or Ancient History that would enable teaching to A level. Smart and professional in appearance, you’re a dedicated team player, lead by example and strive for excellence in everything you do. You’re also committed to boarding school life and actively safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it comes with a generous salary and benefits package too. So, if you have a passion for Classics which you want to share with students and are keen to develop professionally in a high achieving environment, apply today.
