Head of Sixth Form, Chalvey
Location: Chalvey SL1 2PU
Salary: £49,940 - £53,774(Leadership pay scale)
Working Pattern: Required for September 2020 • Full time
Closing date: 5 March 2020
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join us in this new post. We have a large Sixth Form (approximately 250 students) who study a mix of academic and vocational courses at Level 3. We also offer a one year Level 2 programme which includes a day a week of work experience for up to 20 students.
We want someone to join our school who is hungry for a whole school leadership position and keen to make a difference. Our Sixth Form students already benefit from the support of a Form Tutor and Head of Year (one for each of Years 12 and 13) as well as having access to supervised study rooms. We want to appoint someone who will lead the development and growth of our Sixth Form. If that’s you there will be two fundamental aspects to your role. Firstly you will lead the experience of being a Sixth Form student and the opportunities, privileges and responsibilities that come with that. Secondly you will be the school’s post-16 Raising Standards Leader who will relentlessly promote PiXL6 initiatives which are appropriate for our school.
The successful candidate will need to have experience of successful teaching post-16 and be able to contribute towards our post-16 curriculum offer in the future. There are no specific subject requirements for this post though, we want the right person to join our school. You will be line managed by a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will have line management responsibility for the Heads of Years 12 and 13, the Sixth Form Learning Mentors (3) and the Sixth Form Administrator. The successful candidate will be an associate member of the Senior Leadership Team attending when relevant to the position. This really is a great opportunity.
Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.
