Access and Participation Officer, Truro
Location: Truro TR1 3XX
Salary: £29,418 pa, pro rata
Working Pattern: Fixed term until 30 October 2021 • 22 hours a week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to take responsibility for Access and Participation outreach and support initiatives as outlined in the College Access and Participation Plan. The successful candidate will concentrate on Access and Participation Plan targets relating to access, success and progression and the planning, delivery and evaluation of additional measures targeted at under-represented groups, particularly POLAR4 Quintile 1, Black Asian & Minority Ethnic groups, disabled students, care leavers and mature students. You will project manage outreach activities and use your communication expertise to develop long term and supportive relationships with a wide range of people, including school students (9-19 years), mature learners, teachers / school senior management, WP practitioners across institutions, Higher Education academics, local council officials and professional bodies.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work cross-Institutionally, generating momentum behind an Institutional agenda which you are required to drive, but need others to help deliver. To be successful you will have experience of providing information, advice, guidance and support to students in Higher Education and demonstrable success of delivering across student access, success and progression agendas. The ability to develop, write, manage, evaluate and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously is essential as is the ability to self-motivate and work independently with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
