At Redlands school we believe….
....that children need to feel happy, safe, secure and cared for.
All children are valued and respected for who they are. We are responsible for the needs of the whole child: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, creative and spiritual. Communication, relationships and behaviour are key to this ethos.
Working in partnership with parents we build on this secure foundation to empower all children to take responsibility for and ownership of their own learning and development.
Redlands is a Local Authority Community Primary School taking girls and boys aged from four to eleven. There is also a nursery with 40 part-time places.
The school is housed in an imposing Victorian building in the heart of Reading, close to the University and the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The buildings have been used as a school since 1891, and much of the Victorian character has been retained.
Redlands strive continually for high levels of achievement and challenge in a creative and nurturing environment which encourages children’s aspirations, self-confidence and independence, and where children build meaningful relationships within both local and global communities.
