Learning Support Specialist – Physical and Emotional Needs

Location: Wokingham RG41 1EE

Salary: Grade 4 from £9.36 per hour

Working Pattern: Permanent28.5 hours per week, term time only 8:30am to 3:30pm

The Holt is a popular and oversubscribed 11-18 girls’ comprehensive school which converted to academy status in July 2011. The school was judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2008; there are 1260 on roll (235 in the Sixth Form) and we have a record of academic success with 84% 5+ A*-C GCSE passes (including English and mathematics).

A Learning Support Specialist is required to support students with special needs in mainstream classes and also on a 1:1 basis. This role involves supporting students with their physical and emotional needs. Candidates will be required to liaise with external agencies to seek guidance on strategies to support the student. Candidates should have a good standard of education including grade C GCSE or equivalent maths and English. Previous experience working with students with physical or social and emotional needs would be advantageous. Further training will be provided.
