St Dominic’s School, an Autism Accredited school rated “Good” by Ofsted, is a weekly residential and day school catering for up to 110 students between the age of 7 – 19 who have a range of academic abilities but with complex special needs. We offer a truly multi-disciplinary approach, teachers work with therapy and care staff to enhance the learning process and provide an exciting waking day curriculum. Staff work together to provide a blended approach to therapeutic and educational support, both within individual lessons and across the school as a whole.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-driven, flexible and experienced teacher to take over the role of SENCO and work as part of the education leaders’ team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead the school’s annual review process, engage in close liaison with a wide range of stakeholders, drive personalised provision for pupils and students, work with the examinations officer on access arrangements and plan personalised interventions through target setting across the whole school.
You will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils and students. Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable, but not essential.
