Katesgrove Primary School is a growing (1.5 / 3 form entry) school situated within very close proximity of Reading Town Centre. The surrounding area is made up of Victorian terraced houses and accommodation for a range of Housing Associations. Our lovely school is on a split-level site and currently occupies three buildings; two main school buildings and a dining block. All buildings are Victorian in design.
Our school vision is ‘Aspire to Be the Best We Can!’. We strive to provide equal opportunities and aspirations for all stakeholders and refer to this vision as often as possible.
Our school’s mission statement is ‘Ensure children enjoy learning, achieve their best and are ready to cope in an ever changing world’ which sums up our aims and vision and is clearly seen across the school.
The Governors and Senior Leaders of the school realise that in this current economic climate we cannot be all things to all people and that we need to focus on doing fewer things better – of which the most important is taking the teaching and learning in the school forward so it is appropriate, challenging and safe for the children. Our greatest resource is a dedicated team of teachers and teaching assistants who are committed to the care and education of the children of Katesgrove Primary School.
“Teachers, ably supported by teaching assistants, carefully match work to pupils’ various abilities and needs.“
“The school is a harmonious community where pupils behave well and feel entirely safe.
“Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. They are polite and courteous, and warmly welcome visitors, showing pride in their school.”
“All groups of pupils make good progress from their starting points.”
