English Martyrs Catholic Primary School

English Martyrs has been a thriving Catholic school for over 50 years and our school has always been closely linked with the Catholic Parish of English Martyrs in Reading. Our school is made of many different groups and individuals (including staff, governors, parents and pupils), all who are dedicated to making the school the best it can be.

Our Catholic ethos means that we are faithful to Gospel values and strive to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We aim to ensure that our children not only succeed academically, but also grow spiritually and morally, developing into fully rounded individuals. Collective worship, Mass and liturgy all play an important part in the life of the school, as well as an RE curriculum designed to enable pupils to have a firm understanding of Christian beliefs and teachings (as well as an insight into the beliefs of other faiths).

We endeavour to ensure that our pupils achieve their academic potential, by using a wide range of teaching styles and initiatives. We are highly committed to helping every child to make good progress from the moment they join our school in the Foundation Stage, until the time they leave us for secondary school in Year 6.
