A National Support School and High Performing Specialist School.
The Windsor Boys’ School, established in 1908, was formerly a Grammar school and has been a grant maintained comprehensive school since 1977. There are approximately 1000 boys on roll aged 13+ to 18+. Of that number, some 300 boys continue their studies in our Sixth Form. Our school is very proud of its academic, sporting and cultural achievements, which reflect the emphasis in providing a well-balanced education for all.
The Windsor Boys’ School is a High Performing Specialist School deemed as such by central government recognising consistently high standards of achievement. Further, WBS is a National Support School, working on behalf of a series of partner schools in raising the attainment of their school, transforming their learning. WBS is a vocational school with a skills centre annex to ensure we personalise our curriculum to bring the best out of students. We lead a dynamic vocational partnership throughout our region.
We at WBS aim to build on our traditional strengths of the past - but with a firm eye to the future. We are ambitious for our students and staff, determined as we are to be at the forefront of educational development nationally. We are a specialist school - specialising in success particularly in the performing arts.
Our objectives are to encourage each individual student to develop his personality and ability to the full. We offer every opportunity for him to do this in a lively and disciplined atmosphere. It is our hope that the knowledge, skills, qualifications and values he acquires at the school will enrich his life and the lives of those around him.
